Steve job addressed the 2005 graduating class of Stanford in what become his most famous speech. He expressed the importance of being true to yourself and living authentically throughout your career. He talked about dropping out of college, being fired from Apple, and being diagnosed with cancer. His speech epitomized his personal brand. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Jobs noted that as difficult as it was for him to be fired from Apple, it turned out to be a pivotal moment in his life."the heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything," he said. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.
  • Finding a career based on your passions was central of the speech. Jobs urged the Stanford graduates to figure out what they love and not to settle for anything less they were going to spend such a large part of their lives focused on work. He said that "the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only wy to do great work  is to love what you do.
  • Jobs also spoke about how short our lives are how crucial it is  to live your own life-not anyone else's. He urged the graduates to think for themselves and listen to their inner voices." And most important ,have courage to follow your inner heart and intuition," he said. "They some how already know what you truly want become".
